Hi mike who is more likely to win the starting cb job? chris cook, leto shepard or asher allen? I would like to see allen win the job.

    Hi There,

When does Farve come back and is Harvin going to have these migranes all year long? Poor guy.

What are the Minnesota Vikings’ chances of going to Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas?

I am sorry to post this comment on this story, but I am afraid you are the only one that can help, since I have no way of getting ahold of anyone. Please fix the Vikings pressers, so we have better audio, video , and so that we CAN HEAR questions being asked. It is so frustating.

I second Gordy’s comment on the pressers- cannot hear them even with volume all the way up….
On another issue- what is the story with Harvin? seems stange…..is there more to this than is being told?

How is gerhart doing seems like he is kind of struggling with this offense will he be the number 2 or 3 back? personally I would rather have albert young backup ap he has been in the system and has been doing what he needs to. I know he’s not a flashy runner but he eats up yards and clock.

  8. By PurplePeopleEater on Aug 13, 2010 | Reply

Les – you should shoot yourself for that comment. Are you that unaware of the accomplishments of the coaching staff in getting quality personel on the field? The guy has obviously been improving or they would have let him walk. As it is, we have 1 QB more than we can afford to keep on this roster yet they still gave Jackson a new contract.

So my suggestion is to take your computer in to the local pawn shop and trade it in for a gun and bullet. Just don’t tell them that you intend to shoot yourself or they might not sell it to you.

am afraid it don’t matter how good our WR, RB’s are. What matters is our offensive line. They can’t keep 7th grader from getting to our Quarter Back. or open up a whole for our RB’s to run through. and they don’t know how to run block. I’m very disappointed with the amount of money they make and they can’t keep in shape. I say start fresh next year get good players.

How many cornor backs do you expect the vikings to keep it seems like we have some good ones so whos most likely in and who do you think wont make the 53 man roster? Can you list them from highest to lowest??

Are the migranes headaches the only reason Percy Harvins not in camp?

  13. By Joe Viking on Aug 13, 2010 | Reply

Les & Dennis…u r total tools. Go back to New Orleans.
You wasted time not asking the question but at least Paul did: If Percy Harvin is honestly away because of migraines, so what, other seriously injured players take time to text or call or talk to the press & let loyal fans know whats up….the silence on this is quite srange.

Before Favre starts in the Saints game on the 9th, what adjustments have been made to provide him better protection than he had in the NFC Championship. I’ve watched his 19 years and never seen him hit so hard so many times. Who needs to step up to the plate on this one?

  15. By Lito on Aug 13, 2010 | Reply

Is it really hard for the Vikings Management to get help to the offensive line, in the form of a 6’6″ 330 lbs offensive center or right offensive guard, to protect Bret Favre and create holes for AP and TG?

    Hi Mike,

I am sending this for my husband who has terminal cancer. He has been a fan of the Vikings from the beginning of there NFL history. One of the things that he has put on his wish list is to see a pro football game of the Minnesota Vikings. As you probably know with all the hospital bills that comes with this desease it is hard to afford much. I would so like to make this dream come true for him, can you help me.

Ive heard that theres been a good battle for the starting strong safety position between Johnson and Sanford i know Johnson has the upper edge right now but who do you think will win the starting job by week one?? Do you think Sanford has a good chance at winning it?

  18. By vikings012 on Aug 13, 2010 | Reply

What do you think the probability is of the vikings getting a new stadium built and staying in minnesota? Do you beleave theres a better chance they will get the bill past or a better chance at it failing again and the vikings moving to LA? Whats the percentage of this happening?

  19. By fmfan on Aug 14, 2010 | Reply

Favre is not listed on the Vikings roster (NFL.com/ vikings/roster). Do the Vikings know something their not saying or is just a mistake?

  20. By Aloha Vikings on Aug 14, 2010 | Reply

Don’t you think the Vikings have gone past their peak of last season? It will be a much tougher schedule, Farve is not 100% and may not come back, Peterson is a little banged up and has money on his mind, Pat Williams is old cannot possibly last for a full season at full speed, Rice is clearly injured and has money on his mind, Harvin is also very questionable now and will be for rest of season, and Jackson is, well, just Jackson. I have nothing against Jackson, but let’s just state the obvious: He is nothing close to Farve. Moreover, unlike last year, where we had two blockbuster additions in Farve and Harvin, we have nobody this year at all who will come close to that kind of positive impact. I’m a die hard fan, but objectively, this is not a better team than last year. What do you think?

  21. By evalu8er on Aug 14, 2010 | Reply

fmfan: Favre is listed on the Vikings Roster on the Vikings home page. Don’t look for trouble. LOL

Do you see the Vikings putting more Screen plays into the games…seems with a weapon like AP they would use this more than they have…it would also slow the rush down.
getting AP outside is a big key…and the screen play could be the ticket to some big gains.

Favre Is Done with so are the Vikings , I Hope TJ Has 9 Interspations tonight
so they can Trade Him Or But him on the bench.
Gosh Give Cook a Chance they Hired Him But don’t want Train Him?
I’m sorry TJ hasn’t showed Me Much in the last couple of years they say he has Improved we will see tonight i doubt it though!

    John Karl,

Could you be anymore negative. I think Farve will come back because why would he have surgery and he would have said something by now…. Geez take a chill pill man.

    Hey,

Was curious who the referee will be tonight? I know the umpire is now in the backfield, except in the last 2 minutes.

    Thanks,

    Evalu8er and Lito,
I could not agree with you more. Our OLine was AWFUL last season.
McKinnie needs to be consistently better along with improvements from Sullivan and Herrera. Hutchinson will be very good following surgery. Loadholt was solid for a rookie and we can expect continued develpoment from him.
Making no effort in regards to L Mankins is a BIG MISTAKE.

please try too keep joe weeb ,sage, cook, anderson, allen, moats they might thrive we might not need favre

  30. By PurplePeopleEater on Aug 14, 2010 | Reply

Mike – we don’t want Sage. He underthrew the deep man numerous times. The one that was a TD only occured because a 2nd or 3rd string safety on the worst team in the NFL fell for the play action. That throw would have been blocked or intercepted by any respectable safety.

As far as Moats, I don’t think we saw enough of him to make a realistic judgement. He didn’t come in until after 3 other backups had used up the majority of the clock andthe field was loaded with backup players, most 3rd stringers or worse. Give him a shot next week a bit earlier and we may get a better idea of him. But there was probably a good reason that he was the 4th RB (5th if AP were active) to be used. Although I liked what I saw out of Reynaud a lot better than what we say out of Young, so we’ll see if the depth chart gets rearranged a bit this week.

  31. By Rogerthevikefan on Aug 15, 2010 | Reply

Reynaud has amazing balance. He took a big shot and landed on his feet and kept moving. And DeGeare was the most impressive out of the back up oline. Hope he takes 64 spot as a starter.

    Mike,
I was wondering about the strategy of having 2 kickers on the roster. Given the apparent strength of the Vikings along the D-Line It seems likely that a very good lineman will be cut to make room. Also, depth at any line position would seem to make more sense than depth at kicker. In addition, how easy would it be to sneak Webb on to the practise roster if #4 does return? His athletic ability would probably see him scooped up pretty quickly.

  33. By Rogerthevikefan on Aug 15, 2010 | Reply

No chance in H E L L. The only way he is still a vike is with us tradeing sage.

  34. By JIm on Aug 15, 2010 | Reply

It appears that Ryan Cook played center last night. I read in his bio that he played that position 3 years in college. The Vikings seem to use him at every other O’line position. What’s your evaluation of how he played last night?

  35. By vikings012 on Aug 15, 2010 | Reply

last year we kept 6 WR for the season we have the same core coming back except for reynaud who is now a RB the other 5 will most likely remain on the team from last year so if the vikings decide to keep 6 again whos going to be the sixth WR?? Who do you see stepping up and grabbing that last WR spot for the vikings?

  36. By Jeff on Aug 15, 2010 | Reply

Hi mike do you think Brett Favre is just waiting to come back until the vikings national television game this coming sunday?

  37. By Randy on Aug 16, 2010 | Reply

The Vikes imo do not have room for 4 QB’s…and PS is were u develop young talent…do you really see teams taking a chance on this raw a guy…and try to stick him on a roster?

  38. By marcus on Aug 16, 2010 | Reply

i think westbrook has some steam left?….the vikes need to pick up this guy and drop young and johnson. he is more of a threat any areas of the game as a offense of weapon…would give defenses fits to plan a game against!!!

why dont you send whole team to favre home to kiss his butt to get him back.you guys are pathetic.

  42. By Gary Brown on Aug 17, 2010 | Reply

I would sure hope Brett wouldnt be put in to be injured in a nothing pre season game. He pretty much knows what is required and needed to play. All he needs is to make sure he’s in the best shape he can be in. The Vikes are one of the best teams he’s been with. You have all the weapons to protect Favre and get the job done. I’ll be rooting for Favre and the Vikes
