The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that former Vikings LB Nick Rogers was killed in a single-car accident today. He was 30 years old.

Drafted in the 6th round of the 2002 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech, Rogers played 2 seasons in Minnesota and started 16 games. He had 43 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 2.0sacks as a rookie and followed that up with 26 tackles in his 2nd year. Rogers also spent time with the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins in the NFL and also played for the AFL’s Colorado Crush.

Our condolences and prayers go out to Rogers’ family and friends.

I remember Nick Rogers came out of Georgia Tech the same year as Kelly Cambell. He was a good football player. My condolences.

I remember the day we met Nick, it was at training camp, rookie sign in day, he stood and talked to myself and my son for a long time while waiting for his bike. We got to know him, and got to meet some of his family, he was an amazing and very grounded man, he was and always will be a great spirit, and he even took us to eat at Stadium Pizza, it is just hard to believe, we were just talking about him on the weekend. He had a start to a great career, until he got hurt. Bless his family, his new wife, and all of his friends, May God guide them all through this tough time. He will be missed, and remembered on how he touched so many with his kind heart.
