Vikings Round Out 2010 Draft With LB Ryan D’Imperio

Posted by Mike Wobschall on April 24, 2010 – 2:37 pm

The Vikings put the finishing touches on their 2010 draft class by selecting LB Ryan D’Imperio with their second 7th round pick (#237 overall).

D’Imperio played college football at Rutgers and stands at 6-1, 241 pounds. He was a 2nd-Team All Big East selection by the league’s coaches in 2008.

We’ll have more on this pick and the entire Vikings 2010 draft. Also, we’ll be streaming Vikings VP of Player Personnel Rick Spielman’s post-draft press conference in about an hour.

Been a Viking Fan since Super Bowl 3. One of the worst jobs of drafting I’ve ever seen. I thought the object was to take the best available. Cook was a stupid pick. The next 2 were good, after that we had toilet paper on our backs.

i will grade this draft in three years, unlike most idiots who jump to conclusions on here

This is gonna be another dram off season. We have a real tough schedule this year and a week 4 bye, which is not gonna help us. We lose Pat and Kevin for 4 games (possible) and if F4vre doesn’t come back, we are in major trouble. Who know if EJ can make it back from injury and Ced might not be back in time to start the season.

Vikings had a great draft. Speilman and the Vikings big three need to start getting some credit for the job they have done the past few years. Great job staying away from McCoy and Clausen.

no matter who you draft, you can’t grade it until 2 to 3 years down the line. If I had to grade it now it would be average at best.

Peterson, Rice, Harvin, Viking pre-draft scouting is really lucky or really good. Greenway and Brinkley are coming along, Robison could start on many teams. Griffin, Allen and Johnson not bad. Loadholt, Sullivan do I need to say more? I really can’t be critcal when I like what I see. Keep up the good work, turn these rookies into players and go win a SuperBowl for crying out loud.

None of us know how the draft is, good or bad, because you never know how they will react to the speed of the pro game. But what we do know is that they picked some good character guys who are gonna bust their butts. I’ve seen D’Emperio play and he’s a high-energy guy. Big tackler.

It is so sad to see so many “the sky is falling, the sky is falling” cry baby Viking fans. After over 35 years of being a true through thick and thin Vike fan it stll interests me to see such sad, doubting ,unbelieving people who just take out their negetivity against our Vikings before giving any new players the chance to prove themselves.
These attackers are not true fans but those who are only bitter because of the disappointments through the years of Super Bowl and Champ. Game losses.
True Fans will appreciate the efforts of Childress and Spielman ,as well as ownership, and trust that they are doing a pretty good job. If you are going to be critical at least be RESPECTFUL.

I agree We’llallseeoneday most of these guys look like they will come around for the Vikings.

Sharper is near worthless on the Vikings. He is a ball hawk safety who had to play in a specific spot on the Vikes. Great player, but I doubt he even considers coming back to a cover 2 defense.

If givin the right chance.. these draft picks can do goo. I have faith in the RB selected as for the D… Cook will have time to excell if the D-line does its job and gets the QB a run for his money every game. Cherry pickins from there.

Not a colorful draft but give the kids a chance. Love the Gerhart pick. Now go get that ring.

Toby Gerhart is gonna be a BEAST in the backfield. Just wait and see.

The guy the Vikings selected in the 7th round was a fullback in high school and played LB in college. Hope he turns out to be a better fullback than Tahi is.I saw a couple of Rudger games, this guy likes contact and may turn out to be a great blocking fullback, not sure about his pass catching abilities out of the backfield.
