For 28 years, the Vikings and Minnesota Twins shared a home stadium – the HHH Metrodome – but today is the latest, greatest reminder that the 2 clubs will no longer share a stadium. The Twins will open their new home, Target Field, today by hosting the Boston Red Sox at 3:00 p.m.
We’d like to congratulate our former Dome-mates on the opening of their new ballpark; it’s an exciting day for their organization and the type of day that the Vikings can certainly appreciate.
Target Field has received universal acclaim to this point and it’s clear that the new venue will provide the type of game-day atmosphere the organization and its fans certainly deserve. Let’s hope that the opening of Target Field and the Twins success in their new home will serve as a great home field advantage but also another reminder of how important it is to figure out a way to get the Vikings in a new home of their own.
One day, hopefully, the Vikings will celebrate the opening of a new stadium in Minnesota. But today, let’s enjoy the opening of Target Field and wish the Twins nothing but the best in their new home.
