Congratulations To Twins On Opening Target Field

Posted by Mike Wobschall on April 12, 2010 – 7:46 am

For 28 years, the Vikings and Minnesota Twins shared a home stadium – the HHH Metrodome – but today is the latest, greatest reminder that the 2 clubs will no longer share a stadium. The Twins will open their new home, Target Field, today by hosting the Boston Red Sox at 3:00 p.m.

We’d like to congratulate our former Dome-mates on the opening of their new ballpark; it’s an exciting day for their organization and the type of day that the Vikings can certainly appreciate.

Target Field has received universal acclaim to this point and it’s clear that the new venue will provide the type of game-day atmosphere the organization and its fans certainly deserve.  Let’s hope that the opening of Target Field and the Twins success in their new home will serve as a great home field advantage but also another reminder of how important it is to figure out a way to get the Vikings in a new home of their own.

One day, hopefully, the Vikings will celebrate the opening of a new stadium in Minnesota. But today, let’s enjoy the opening of Target Field and wish the Twins nothing but the best in their new home.

Go Twins!

A great day for the Twins, to be sure. Having not lived in Minneapolis now for 20 years, and not having a finger on the true pulse of the Minnesota people, I was excited when I heard aboujt the deal for Target field, and the Gophers on campus stadium, but feared it was a bad sign for the Vikes. In todays times, it will be a hard sell to get another stadium deal done soon in the cities. i hope it can get done. Minnesota needs its Vikings!

    1st off Goooooooooo Twins!
2nd i think Target should step up the the plate and create the “Tri-fecta” there in MN; Target Center- T-Wolves, now Target Feild- Twins, just make sense to have Target Stadium- Vikings.
It Vikings country for sure in MN, most of us bleed purple as it’s clear that Vikings are #1 in MN sports wise, just can’t understand why there last in line to make MN a viable sports state in getting the most up to date facility for NFL football there.
Either way i support the Vikings whole heartedly as a 3rd generation fan and am raising the 4th.
    Skol Vikings

Also if your like me a person that has been attending Vikings games since 99′ is going crazy waiting for the NFL schedule to come out as i have plans to go to a game this September as my last experience sitting 2nd row in the “Red Zone” endzone in AZ on SNF was a game i know Vikings would like to forget.
So lets go NFL Die Hard fans like myself need to know ya know, so we can set and plans accordingly; looking for those prime seats to watch Favre make amends for the NFC championshop game outcome.
So in the end the Twins are a nice distraction.
Still Love the Twins but Vikings are where it’s at.
