March Madness resumes this evening as half of the remaining field takes the court for Sweet 16 action. But before you start thinking about settling in to watch some hoops, check out’s Mock Madness.

For the 3rd straight year, is feeding off the hype of March Madness and doing a weekly feature called Mock Madness, which tracks the draft projections of several national football observers, such as Pat Kirwan of and both Mel Kiper, Jr. and Todd McShay of ESPN.

The feature began last week with Mock Madness 1.0 and this week’s edition has also been posted. Be sure to follow along each week and keep up with all of the draft speculation.

I agree with Charles Davis. USC’s Taylor Mays has extremely rare height and reach for a S and can generate big play hits. If he is still on the board at #30, I don’t see the Vikings passing him up. Not to mention he would be a great complement to Winfield.

I doubt that we’ll go after a DT in the 1st round now that we re-signed Kennedy. Kennedy was looking for a role on a different team as a starter, but instead decided to stay with MN, which gives good implications that he’ll be the guy after Pat retires. I’d be happy if we go with the Safety or CB options, presuming that if we take a safety he (or the safety he’d be replacing) is versatile enough to be a good CB too. With the questions we have on injuries, we need to take in at least one good replacement at CB until things get resolved.
