Vikings QB Brett Favre appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno tonight and said that he’s still uncertain about his future and hasn’t decided if he’ll return for another season with the Vikings.
“Well Jay, it’s only been a month, and I know now that I’m just not going to say anything anytime soon, just going to kind of sit back, relax, enjoy the offseason,” Favre said.
“Obviously had we gone to the Super Bowl that would have been the icing on the cake, but it was way better than even I could have dreamed of,” Favre said. “I’ve told people I really believe my biggest accomplishment this year was winning over the majority of the Vikings’ fans. For so many years I was hated.”
Favre also gave praise to Vikings fans.

With Viking QB Brett Favre scheduled to appear on tonight’s episode of Jay Leno’s “The Tonight Show,” many Viking fans will be watching in hope of hearing the future Hall of Famer’s announcement to return for the 2010 season.
I am optimistic about the possibility of Favre making an announcement or innuendo concerning his future with the team, but don’t get your hopes up.
It is still early in the offseason and the 19-year veteran is still healing from the physical punishment he received during the crushing defeat to the Saints in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 24. Not to mention the emotional let-down the loss gave to not only Favre, but the entire team.
Here is a quick video clip of NFL Total Access analysts weighing in on Favre’s possible return for the 2010 season that might allow most Viking fans to stay optimistic.

We mentioned yesterday that the Vikings haven’t confirmed any restricted free agent (RFA) tender information, and likely won’t do so until the deadline tonight at 10:59 CT, but that won’t stop external sources from revealing the information.
Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune is reporting that the Vikings have tendered DT Fred Evans at the 2nd round level and QB Tarvaris Jackson at the 3rd round level (explanation of the 3rd round tender here). This means that the Vikings have extended qualifying offers to both players and that if either player signs with another team the Vikings will have the right of first refusal and they would receive draft pick compensation.
We’ll continue to pass along information when appropriate, but remember that this information is only being reported and has not been confirmed by the club.
