Did You Know?

A few interesting notes and stats to think about before kickoff of today’s game…

– The Vikings were 4-1 this season against the 2009 playoff teams, defeating Green Bay twice, Baltimore and Cincinnati and losing to Arizona.

– A win would give the Vikings their 1st playoff win since 2004, when they defeated the Green Bay Packers 31-17 in the Wild Card game, and only their 2nd postseason win since 2000.

– This will be the 7th postseason meeting between the Vikings and the Cowboys. The teams’ 6 prior playoff games have consisted of 2 NFC Wild Card games, 2 NFC Divisional Playoff games and 2 NFC Championship Games. The Vikings are 2-4 against the Cowboys in the postseason but won the last matchup in the 1999 NFC Wild Card round, beating Dallas 27-10 in the Metrodome.

– The Vikings and Dallas have not squared off since 2007, and this is the Cowboys 1st visit to Mall of America Field since 2004 (a 35-17 Vikings win).

– A win would give the Vikings their 8th trip to the NFC Championship Game.

– Among current Vikings players, there have been 112 postseason games played with 66 starts. Seventeen Vikings will make their 1st playoff appearance this year, while 36 have either played or been on the active roster in at least one postseason game prior to 2008.

– QB Brett Favre has the most playoff starts (22) among current Vikings.

– The Vikings coaching staff has coached and/or played in 103 postseason games.

Sucks to be a cowboy fan today. Vikes owned us. However, you still won’t win the superbowl or even go for that matter.

You have to believe in these Vikings!

I have a feeling COWBOYS4LIFE will not be on here later tonight

Cowboys4life must not have know that all of Favre’s playoff losses to the cowgirls were in Dallas. At home, Favre is 1-0 against them in the playoffs.

I guess they get to win every once in a while since the refs can’t see Rice ripping Jenkins head off.

Have fun in New Orleans. Brett is washed up

Okay Dallas fans, come back and explain why you should have won. Give us ALL the excuses. Represent your team now, since you were talking so big all week on this site…

Wow, you can have Favre after that classy move. Could the vikings be more of a classless act!! You have a coach that has no stones and a QB who will lose you games sooner rather than later! It was just two years ago that he blew the NFC championship game and would not talk to anybody. It is funny that after this game he sure was available for the media. Good Luck against the Saints!

  12. By Thor on Jan 17, 2010 | Reply

Which classless act was that Scott? Throwing a TD after the game was sealed? Running up the score? All fans loves it when their team does that…

I am a Cowboys fan and have been one for 45 years. That last touchdown shows just what king of organization the Vikings are and what kind of person Favre is. You all are very sorry to rub it in like that but hopefully we will never forget. Payback is B

oh john please! cmon rice wasen’t near pushing jenkins. he just wasen’t able to cover sidney. vikings was better in every aspect of the game. the refs even missed 2-3 pass interferrense, so cowboys shouldn’t complain at all. admit you lost and end of story. The scoreboard talks for itself.

Wow, you Cowboy fans are the sorry sight, not the Vikings team. First you all come onto OUR site to start creating fights with us, and then try to put us down for the team finishing out the game with something to please the home crowd one last time.

Try listening to the Vikings’ TD song once. It SAYS “Run Up the Score!” We like it. Every fan likes it. Class is in pleasing YOUR fans, so they could not have shown more class today.

BTW – Don’t complain about “missed calls” by the refs. This reffing crew has been notorious for calling penalties against the home team. So anything that they missed against the Vikes was a drop in the bucket compared to what they missed against the Cowboys, or called in the Cowboys’ favor.

we play 60 min if you dont like the last touchdown stop us and you didnt all day go vikes

  18. By malte on Jan 17, 2010 | Reply

and there is nothing wrong with giving the fans something to stay for. it’s never fun just to see a QB kneel at the end of the game. you would be all smile if Tony Romo had the posibility to humiliate the vikings. but vikings defense sealed the game. Cowboys fans, accecpt the loss, instead of comming with all of bad execuses and insultes

  19. By Thor on Jan 17, 2010 | Reply

Malte – Let them come with all the bad excuses they want. They’re fun, and funny! The insults obviously aren’t welcome, but are something that are all but impossible to avoid with a bruised ego.

You are right about the never forget part, see I have been a Vikes fan for 45 yrs. You talk about payback, you got yours today for the offensive pass interference Hail Mary that was never called in 1975!!! So you are right, never forget and payback is a B#$%^ !!!!!!!!!! Now we are even

  25. By rap99 on Jan 17, 2010 | Reply

the last TD was for every a-hole analyst that said the vikes could not win today!

A note to disgruntled Cowboys fans. ~ Shut up now. Vikings fans have tolerated your hot winded trash talk for long enough. Here’s a question for you. Are you still watching ESPN?? 34 – 3

I am not talking stuff to anyone. I just want to congratulate my Vikings on a well played game. There were penalties against us that were definitely not called. However, there are calls that always go for or against your favorite team, but winners always succeed no matter what. They don’t let calls determine the outcome. Great season for both teams. Now we have work to do yet. Go Vikings!!!

Leave Dallas Fans, this site is for Vikes fans, you have your own site and keep your comments to yourself. As our song goes “Go Vikings run up the score, you’ll hear us yell for more” so theres nothing wrong with us playing and competing and scoring time after time in our Metrodome. Keith Brooking is a visitor in Brett Favre’s house so he had no right in running his mouth to Ol’ Brett after that last score. Brett is just having fun playing the game he grew up with and loves.
