What Peterson Really Wants

Posted by Mike Wobschall on January 14, 2010 – 5:05 pm

We mentioned earlier in the day that the Associated Press announced its 2009 All-Pro Team and that the Vikings led all NFL teams with 4 players honored. We also said that the All-Pro team is a bit more prestigious because it’s composed of fewer players than the Pro Bowl teams.

But All-Pros don’t suit up and play in an all-star game at the end of a season. So which is better – being named an All-Pro or being named a Pro Bowler?

Well who better to ask than Vikings RB Adrian Peterson. He’s a notorious and ambitious goal-setter, plus he’s already been named to 3 Pro Bowls and 2 first-team All-Pro teams.

Peterson was actually asked the question while meeting with reporters, and his answer should make every Vikings fan smile.

“I’m looking at the Super Bowl, that’s what I want,” Peterson said. “Everything else really doesn’t mean anything if you don’t accomplish the ultimate goal. That’s what I’m looking at. If I get a Super Bowl ring, that would be lovely.”

The last seven regular season games A.P. has fail to gain 100/yd. per game.

This guy can’t hang on to the football.
How can he be named a pro-bowler or even a all-pro He’s not even the best back on his team.

This guy is a E.S.P.N. creation.

    Stats don’t lie..

uh, most touchdowns by a runningback in the NFL, touchdowns are what matter, uards don’t win you games

stats are for losers, peterson is the only back in the league who can run against a 9 man front!

Right on jbork 18 td. along with 7 fumbles, 20 career fumbles and thats playing at least half of the games in doors. The guys a good back but not great.

Brendan stats do matter when selecting all-pro /pro-bowl teams.

    paul wow what a f@gg
numbers dont lie yes tru but yards dont win you games, TDs do and peterson led the nfl. hes had the best first 3 seasons of any talented RB dating back to Chuck Foreman.
    C’mon man

peterson will work on his fumble problems, he has only been in the league for 3years.

  7. By jbork on Jan 14, 2010 | Reply

Peterson is already an outstanding all-pro and a fantastic prow bowler. He now deserves to be a superbowl champion. I believe the Vikings can definitely do it this year. Go Vikings!

At saw adrian at the probowl running against a pro bowl base defense.. And he was head above every running back there. He was very impressive!! So adrian. You don’t suck. Your team does. Don’t resign. Da cowboys would love 2 share some championship love with you if you ever want to play with a very good team!!

You know what would be funny? If like AP said earlier this year they hadn’t played their best game yet and on Sunday they did. I’d love to see AP run like he did against the chargers his rookie year. Remind me how many yards was that? 295? But not the best back ok. STATS dont lie like you said. Also I’d love to see him run over and then step on em on his way by like he did against Gay in Pittsburgh. God I love that clip.

I’ll take All Day Peterson anytime on my team. You might stop him to three yards rushing for all but two minutes of the fourth quarter and he can bust a nine man front and take it to the house. He will play well and help this team get to the NFC Championship Game. But for now, it’s all about Dallas. I fully expect to see a show from two homeboys: Barber in Minnesota and Peterson for his home State of Texas. Buckle up and hold on. Highlight reel coming our way.
