Harvin Up For Pepsi Rookie Of The Year Honors

Posted by Mike Wobschall on January 8, 2010 – 2:27 pm

Earlier this week, Vikings WR Percy Harvin was named the Associated Press’ Offensive Rookie of the Year. Now, the speedy and elusive play-maker is up for another rookie of the year award.

Harvin, who set a franchise record for all-purpose yardage with 2,081 combined rushing/receiving/return yards, is 1 of 5 finalists for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. The other 4 finalists are Bills S Jairus Byrd, Texans LB Brian Cushing, Packers LB Clay Matthews and RavensT Michael Oher.

You can vote for Harvin by clicking here.

The 22nd pick in last April’s draft, Harvin quickly emerged as one of the league’s most electrifying play-makers. He became the first Viking ever to record 2 kickoff return TDs in a season and career and he was 2nd on the team with 60 receptions.

Harvin was named Pepsi Rookie of the Week 7 times during the regular season.

Any one of those players on the defensive side would be a better choice than Percy.

Percy is a part time player that missed several games.
Those defensive players are STUDS, that play just about every down and game

Percy missed one game paul. Plus you don’t get over 2,000 all purpose yards for half assing.
