Mr. Hippe’s Weather Report

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 28, 2009 – 7:35 pm

An outdoor game during December in Chicago? That’s what we have tonight. And that means tonight’s weather report is the most important of the year for Mr. Hippe.

Mr. Hippe says air temperature is 12 degrees but that it feels like 0 degrees. Winds are out of the east and going northeast primarily and are gusting up to 18 mph.

It’s a cold one here in the Windy City.

Vikings are the biggest joke in the NFL. Lions have more heart to win. I sure hope they feel real good about how bad the Viking fans get riped off every year. And they make way too much money for what they do. The fans should get a FREE season to watch them choke in big games. This is just awful to be a Viking Fan anymor. Go Packers you have more class then the whole Viking team. Chilldress is the Biggest joke in coaches in the NFL. 4 more years. Great… Just Great.

you got that right. just end the season for the vikings after they get kicked by the Giants. Give their spot to the Lions.

The problem is, these players are all overpaid and don’t care to win. It’s pathatic. I’ve been a fan for 35 years now and I think I’m done with NFL period.

    Hey viking fans,
Our defense has no intensity, our offense plays as good as their competition. You might as well get ready for disappointment. Our db’s are terrible. How do you allow a wr to get behind you. Griffin and Winfield suck in coverage. They have given up for the division champ. They don’t want a superbowl. I would rather they not go at all. I love the vikings however, if your listening vikings, you all are a bunch of cowards.

That was an unreal football game. I wish the Vikings dominated like that all game long. They are not cowards, that was an insane comeback, and that 4th and goal was thrilling. Vikings had the ball on our 40 yard line, then AP fumbled away the first round bye. His fumbles are really starting to anger me, especially when they cost so much. Favre played unbelievable besides his fumble. The special teams is an absolute joke with the blocked extra point and the returns the Bears were getting. The defence didn’t play that well, but I blame the special teams before that for the constant good field position. Best Vikings game I have seen in a while, even though I hate the outcome. This loss really stings. Go Dallas, beat those Sheagles next week

Jasper needs to learn how to wrap up and make a tackle as well as the rest of the defense. get your head out of the sky and play football. You got yourselves a little overrated! See you all next year, and I don’t mean in 3 days either. I’m dead inside. Chilly could’t motivate me to get **** in a hoehouse. What a waste of oxygen that guy is. So you win the division and get a lobotamy. Total turds. All of you that think I’m not a fan are in lack of a better word, mindless sheep. No more football for me this year. How do you allow these turds to win with starters knocked out of the game on both sides? Cutler makes mistakes with pressure…any pressure? NO. Well, here’s Favre blowing up another team. He did it to the Packers, he did it to the Jets, and now to the Vikings. He is what he is: A late season game killing albatross.

  43. By Scraaaaazy on Dec 28, 2009 | Reply

I get a kick out of when Favre says “we.” He’s not part of the team. He’s a temporary hired gun (that misfires late in the year). He’ll be gone in a tearful retirement after he throws the interception that kills the Vikings season in the playoffs. Then the Vikings will need some time to repair the damage done by Favre and Chilly. Probably in California.

  44. By viks choke again on Dec 28, 2009 | Reply

Childress needs to leave. i realize he signed another contract, but just pay him off and tell him to leave. this was not Favre’s fault, if you can’t win a game scoring 30 points, it’s time to pack it up. we lost some good players this year, and it was chilly’s fault!! both shaper and birk said they would of stayed if chilly wasn’t there!!!!!

  45. By Scraaaaazy on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

Trust me Vikes Choke, it’s the curse of Bart Favre. He blew it. It’s Favre’s fault big time. He always blows it in the end.

  46. By PurplePeopleEater on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

That loss is on Favre by no means. He had much more to do with the previous two losses, but this one lies completely on the coaching. They came out against a team that has nothing to play for, while our team has everything to play for but can’t get the team to play like champions until late in the 4th quarter. Then overtime kicks in and we go right back to square one. Favre was doing great when he had the packages that he KNEW would work, but when the brainless coaches overruled him, things looked pathetic. I’ve backed the coaching for a LONG time now, pointing to how our team has improved every year. And we still are up by 1, and *possiblly* even 2 games this year, but that seems much more akin to the fact that we have an easy schedule than the fact that the team is improving. We have had 2 great chances to move into place for the #1 seed, but the coaching has let the team relax too much and is allowing them to play far below what they are capable of. I’m through diluding myself. Maybe if things turn around in the playoffs I’ll yet again change my mind, but right now it seems all too obvious where our team is hurting the most. Keep Chilly, just demote him to a talent scout, as that appears to be the one area he has any skill at.

  47. By moorevikes on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

dude, scraaaaazy what game did you just watch? favre was the only one who played with heart it would have been a blow out if not for him. i would give credit to the rest of the team but they took the 1st half off. def and special teams took the entire night off. once favre started playing his game we moved the ball. chilly has to go! i don’t know why people want the team to move to l.a. though i live in wy. (lived in sota for 8 years) that’s when i became a fan. i don’t think i could root for an l.a. team.

  48. By Scraaaaazy on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

But it’s all about Favre and the overall effect he has on the team. Players resent him and he’s inside Chilly’s “stream of consciousness.” It’s the curse of Brett Favre and it’s terrible. Favre will throw the interception that ends the Vikings season. Favre and Chilly make me sick to my stomach. You heard it here first.

Chilly has ruined the Vikings. He’s destroyed everything that is good. And the worst move he made was bring in the Drama Queen, Brett Favre. Favre ruins every team he plays for, for what, 6 years running? He kills the Packers, then the Jets, and now he’s killing the Vikings. You tell me about the merit of my comments after Favre throws the BrInterception that kills the season. Chilly and Favre lovers like PPE make me sick to my stomach!

  55. By PurplePeopleEater on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

And it’s obvious that letting Sharper walk was the biggest mistake our team has made in a long time. Now he is having a stellar year in New Orleans, with the most INTs of his career and the most Yards after INT of any player in the history of the NFL. I guess we were fooled once again by the coaching staff that he is just beyond his prime.

  57. By PurplePeopleEater on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

Moorevikes – Winfield had a bad game today – possibly his injury taking a tole on him, but before then he was a great pass defender as well. That’s why so many more completions were made on the other side of the field before his injury occured, because QBs couldn’t find an opening in his coverage. Now though, it is obvious that he has lost a couple steps. Many things to consider in why we are looking so much worse towards the end of the season.

Let Favre run the offense the rest of the season and the Vikes will go all the way. Like Trent Dilfer said on ESPN, the Vikes need to let Brett run the offense. Pass first and then the running game will open up. But Brad wont let him do that, Brad would rather have his way than give the Vikes a Championship!

  63. By PurplePeopleEater on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

The one thing that bugs me the worste about Chilly is that he has absolutely no passion in his voice whatsoever. Win or lose, every time you hear a word out of the guy he is completely monotone and doesn’t seem to care how things happened or what they meant to the team or the fans. Just shrugs his shoulders and says that we need to focus on next weeks game. If the coach doesn’t have any passion, how is he going to instill any within the players?

  70. By PurplePeopleEater on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

I agree moorevikes. The backups (Sapp, Asher Allen etc.) have looked like they can play the pass well. At least better than Winfield has been of late. But Winfield’s passion for the game makes an immeasurable difference as well. It was when he dropped the INT in the Cincy game that our whole team turned on and started to hand it to the Bengals. However, it couldn’t hurt to give the younger guys their share of reps and experience in there and give Winfield plenty of rest while rotating around and really keeping everybody nice and healthy.

Honestly, I think that we’d be better off slipping Winfield into a Safety position. Something similar to what Pittsburgh did with Polamalu before he got injured, with the blitzes all over the field to really throw the QB off his mark. Antoine himself has said that he’d prefer to be a safety, and it is the area on the field that we are hurting the most.

I agree though that Chilly doesn’t appear to take blame for anything. Looking at it from a business standpoint, every mistake that the employees make is the fault of their manager. The players are your employees Childress, you are their manager, everything is your fault. Take blame, and show us some passion! You can’t depend on guys like Winfield, and Allen and Henderson to do it for you without your help. THey’ll either lose it themselves, or in cases like Henderson’s, get injured and have to be replaced by someone who doesn’t have the passion and leadership that you seem to lack.

Had to go away for awile because I don’t like arguing with idiots like Scraaaaazy because it’s pointless. People like that argue with facts and logic.

First of all Favre wasn’t hopped on any junk when he had his 1996 and 1997 MVP seasons. It was May of 1996 that he voluntarily went in for rehabilitation for addiction to Vicodin, which he completed in 46 days and which he completed before the 1996 season.

Second of all, I will respond to the other IDIOTIC remark made by Scaaaazy regarding the end of the Jet’s season. Favre ripped a bicep muscle and that is perscisely why his play was off for the last 5 games. Until that point he had a MVP type season going just as he has had with the Vikings.

Thirdly, I do admire Favre for his dedication and passion for the game of football. And I do also think that considering all the factors like total wins, Championships, personal records, stats, longevity, knowledge of the game, passion for the game & leadership that Brett Favre is the BEST quarterback to evr play the game!

Lastly, I still think Scraaaaazy is a Brett Favre Hater and a complete MORON! And if Brad would just let Brett run the offense this team would go all the way! The passing game will open up the run just like it did the second half of the game. That is the Vikings destiny for success!

This is the worst team in football with the worst coach. Once again its going to be one game and go home in the playoffs. Adian needs to be benched he caused us to lose again by not holding on to the ball. The offensive line sucks and we have a pitiful defense. True champions win when they are supposed to. This team consistantly chokes every year. Brad Childress needs to be fired and let brett farve retire. Brett is a great quarterback but is wasting his time with these losers. They promised him if he came out of retirement they would give 100 percent on the field. Well if this is 100 percent they need to give it up. Brett cannot win by himself and needs some help form the rest of the team. Adrian sit on the bench a while until you figure out how to hold on to the ball. We went from 10-1 to 11-4 and now are going to fall to atleast a 3 seed in the playoffs. I have been a vikings fan for 35 years and one thing is consistant we will always find a way to choke in the end. I will not watch you guys play another game and wish you luch the rest of the way. Which I know you will need the way you are playing. Dont ever promise a hall of fame quarterback you can do something and not deliver. Brett go ahead and retire you are wasting you time with this caoch and these players. I guess I can always become a saints fan.

Coaching Coaching Coaching everybody in america knew A.D. was going to get the ball onthe first play of the game. Why not call some play action pass or maybe even a flea flicker and cathc the defense by suprise. Chilly needs to go looked to me like he was more worried about staying warm than winning a very important football game. I posted last week and again I say are we going to let our defensive coordinator take another team to the Super Bowl I hate to say it but it looks like its going to be 1 and done again in the playoffs. What a shame. You can have all the talent in the world but if its not coached or used the right way you have a sub parr team. I have been a Vikings fan all my life 45 years I am so tired of under achieving

GET RID OF CHILDRESS!!!! Why run the ball when it obviously IS NOT WORKING. Just let Favre run things and pass. His receivers are some of the best in the NFL! Then with Childress get rid of Winfield! My 16 year old daughter could cover receivers better than him!

You could see it coming all year, I’m tired of seeing AP previewed as some great running back. He doesn’t deserve all the touch downs he has. 99% of the backs in the league could have scored on the opportunities he has been given. He should have been bench long ago. I’m tired of the hype about AP and the punishing runner he is. He acts like a prima donna, because of the press he gets. He has finally cost the vikes big time and made their playoffs much more difficult. He lacks focus, he isn’t displined and does not know how to protect the ball. I hope everyone lets him know it in the locker room. This has been an ongoing problem with AP and enough is enough. At least it didn’t cost them a playoff game. Just look at his reaction after the fumble, he pleads he was down. Wrong he got chased down from behind and stripped. Its time to change his name from AP to PP, it leave it at that.

  99. By envec on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

The vikings need fans that don’t complain every step of the way. Sure we had a bad first half, but Favre and the offense proved that they are still a playoff team in that second half. 30 points in 30 minutes is impressive no matter what. We lost yesterday because of our special teams and defense. If this team is gonna make it in the playoffs the fans need to believe and encourage our team.

  100. By Scraaaaazy on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

The Vikings are doomed to fail, I’m sorry to say. Favre and Chilly have ruined this team beyond repair. The only way to move forward is for Chilly to resign and Favre to retire (for real this time, not a fake baby-crybaby wussy retirement).

    It’s the only way.

We all agree that the Wilf’s should not have given Childress an extension, maybe if he wins a playoff game, I could see it, but, to do it mid-season?…For some odd reason, I feel a little bit better about the loss last night. Maybe it’s b/c we showed some heart, maybe it’s b/c we came back from a big deficit, I’m not exactly sure. But I’m very concerned about our defense. The game vs. ARZ, when EJ Henderson got injured, I saw everything go down the drain, at that point I knew things would be different, it took everything out of my sails, he was our leader on defense, we miss him immensely. I’m not sure what’s happening to Antoine Winfield, but, he’s always struggled against speedy WR’s, b/c he’s not a fast guy himself, but, these last 2 games he’s gotten burned a lot. And someone please explain to me what has happened to our pa-ss rush these last 5 weeks?…Jared Allen hasn’t stepped up, he struggles against premiere tackles, and other guys on our line havent stepped up. I’ve said this all year, Brian Robinson, every time he’s in the game he makes plays. Why he doesnt see the field more is baffling to me. Even Howie Long said it on the FOX pre-game show last week. I guess all is not lost, IF we beat the Gmen and Dallas beats Philly, we will get the 2 seed, but, we cant on that, we lost control of our own destiny, that’s the bottom line, we’ve blown another year, how many times has that happened?….Too many

So, as Vikings fans, with all the disappointments we have endured thru the years, to still be with them shows what type of character we have, b/c how many loyal fans would have stuck it out with our teams?…I’m sure many have abandoned, but, for the people that have stayed on board, cudos to them, b/c it’s easy to root for a perennial winner, it’s not so easy to root for ineptitude, or is that too big a word for you, u are a Bears fan, so, I know ur not that smart

Filly (Favre + Chilly, for those “out of the loop”) are a perfect pair. Chilly is a moron/pushover/control freak. His “stream of consciousness” rap regarding Favre’s disregard for his game-plan was priceless. The Vikings will implode as Chilly carries Favre’s jockstrap the rest of the year.

    Question!

Will Chilly drive Favre to the airport after his tearful “final” retirement after he throws the BrINT that ends the Vikings season????

  121. By Scraaaaazy on Dec 29, 2009 | Reply

You tell ‘em lugnut. It’s for their own good. The sooner Vikings fans realize that Chavre (Chilly + Favre) has ruined the Vikings, that Favre will blow it in the playoffs, that they are stuck with Chilly for the foreseeable future, and the team is soon to be in L.A., the better. Minnyhaha will have no team and no Favre. The sooner Vikings fans come to accept this the better off they’ll be. Then they can become Packer fans. (The smart ones, anyway.)

The postitive aspect as we all should continue to have as it still a great victory of 11 and 4 where lots of teams wish to be. They may lose to a team who is fighting for nothing but in the 1 win against a top rated team of Cin Bengals in the last four means it is always possable to win the Big One. I saw a lot that I hated last night, but there was an explosive quality to the second half that could carry through. Special teams is my primary concern right now…
As far as the NFC title game goes, it will probably be against a technically stronger team, but on any given day the real Vikings could arrive and blow into the Super Bowl…
I may hate what I saw last night, and I really am staring to doubt Chilly and his philosophical approach (how about a little fear of the coach for a change and a little more elemental motivation), but I believe!!!!!!!! Go Purple!!!!!!!!

That’s all you have, a lemon
    and it is AWESOME!!

Hoover, in conjunction with Kirby Vacuum, is unveiling a new model, NFL oriented. Touted as “The Viking”, it really, really sucks.

Lugnut… buddy, I finally have to disagree with you. It’s not a lemon, it was part of the cash for clunkers program. Pfffft, pfffft, fizzle, clank, pick, season over.

Mr Lombardi Trophy, we both agree that Favre is Wayyyyy past his time. And we are both intelligent enough to NEVER be stupid enough to root for the queens, EVER!!!!

Yeah, both of u are right. He’s only thrown for 29 TD’s and 7 INT’s, ur right, that’s pathetic, WAYYYYY past his prime. Wow, I didnt know Packers fans were that dumb….Actually I did know that. I think it’s so cute how u guys put that block of cheese on ur heads, that’s so cute. Only fat, over-weight white guys would do something like that, and I’m white, so no racism there. That fits ur bill. I guess there’s reason why so many people in ‘Sconsin are portly, eating there darn cheese all the time. Wastelland of America, ‘Sconsin.

This website is sure filled with alot of wanna-be football players. You loose as a team or win as a team. Coaching questionable. When Vikes where 10-1 everyone was happy and now with a few loses everyone wants to jump the ship before it sinks. Good luck to you that have no backbones. The players and the coaching staff will be laughing at all of you when we win the big game. No dillision here just plain fact. Go Vikes!
