Footing Fine, Wind Howling

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 28, 2009 – 7:29 pm

The report I’ve gotten from P Chris Kluwe and K Ryan Longwell is that the footing on the playing surface inside Soldier Field is pretty solid tonight.

The wind, however, is another story.

It sounds as if the wind is coming from several different directions and, more than the temperature or the footing, the wind will affect the kicking game for both teams.

It’d be nice if the Vikings offense and defense made sure that tonight’s outcome doesn’t come down to a kick.

The Vikings as a team were a disappointment tonight…however, Winfield has to be the biggest loser of the season. He has been burned soooo many times this year on game changing plays…he got burned tonight again on the winning play….take him out…go home Winfield…

Get that Winfield out of the line-up. He has become a bust of a player.
Special Teams coach needs to be canned !! Horrible, horrible.

Finally….the Vikings have a set where they pack the line tight and bring a “hip” to one side or another and run Peterson off tackle for a loss of 1 (usually). Get rid of that formation . It’s probably one some nit wit Viking assistant coach used in high school. SPREAD this offense out.

All it will take in a game now is for the offense of the other team to have a big passing play and the team will quit right there. No matter what are offense does. Where is our pass rush…..calling Jared Allen…Jared?

    Get a grip.

    Come on, people.

Winfield is hobbled. I wouldn’t be upset to see him inactive against the Giants.

Key special teams players EJ Henderson and Karl Paymah were not playing. The Bears kickoff return unit burned the Vikings in the Metrodome, too.

I really hope that Karl Paymah will be healthy and ready for Sunday, because right now, if Paymah is healthy or almost healthy, he is a better cornerback than the hurt Antoine Winfield.
