Loadholt, Peterson Return To Practice

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 10, 2009 – 4:00 pm

The Vikings and Bengals have released their Thursday injury reports and little has changed from the week’s initial report.

There was some good news for the Vikings, though. Both RT Phil Loadholt (shoulder) and RB Adrian Peterson (foot/ankle) were limited participants on Thursday after sitting out last week.

There were no other changes to the Vikings injury report.

For the Bengals, the only change is that CB Morgan Trent (knee) was limited today after sitting out Wednesday.

What’s up with Winfield? He needs to suck it up and help the team, we need him right now. Our secondary is horrible!

I have to disagree with your comment Derek. While they looked lost and confused this last week, the defense has made amends for Winfield’s absence quite well up until that point. Now with EJ gone, we will need Antoine more than ever and have Greenway and Leber step up their playing a couple notches as well. And, assuming that we do finally get Winfield back this week, I would expect to see a lot of Nickel and Dime formations to both compensate for the loss of Henderson and make full use of the proven skills of Benny Sapp and Asher Allen over the past few weeks.

No, our secondary is not that good, the only reason we didnt give up more big plays early in the season is b/c our defenseive line was getting pressure all game long…Look at both GB games, dominated the first halves with a great pa-ss rush, then in the 2nd halves, our pa-ss rush disappeared and our secondary got lit up…Batimore pas-sed on us with ease in the 4th quarter, yes, Winfield went out with an injury, but, when starters go down, back-ups have to fill in and do their job, they did not, and we had a good pa-ss rush all game in that one and we still got lit up in the secondary…our safeties are horrendous, why we let go of Darren Sharper I dont know, he’s up for the defensive MVP w/the Saints…Tyrell Johnson has played like garbage all year
