Vikings Make Roster Moves

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 9, 2009 – 2:32 pm

The Vikings on Wednesday made a series of roster moves in light of E.J. Henderson’s season-ending injury.

First off, Henderson was placed on injured reserve, which officially ends his season after 12 games. To fill the open roster spot, the Vikings terminated the practice squad contract of TE Garrett Mills and then signed him to the 53-man roster.

In addition to those moves, the Vikings also signed LB Jeremy Lehman and OT Drew Radovich to the practice squad. The Vikings had room to add 2 players to the practice squad because they also terminated the practice squad contract of DeAndre Wright on Tuesday.

Sad that EJ Henderson’s season has ended. I hope things turn out well for him.

Congratulations to Garrett Mills. Now he has an interesting opportunity.

Welcome to Jeremy Lehman, and welcome back to Drew Radovich.

As a Vikings fan, these sound like good moves.

I’m most excited by the signing of G MIls. I think that if utilized well Mills could be a weapon on this team. There should be a number of options available when the team lines up in a 3 TE set.

I’m curious if moving greenway or possibly leber to the middle would be better..

Some folks I read in other websites thought getting Derrick Brooks would be the thing to do to replace E.J.

The loss of E.J. really hurts, I was thinking we should sign a veternan linebacker like Derrick Brooks or Zach Thomas

Horrible to see another season cut short for E.J. Henderson because of injury. He had been playing stellar over the past several weeks and returned to his dominant self. He will be missed, but I am confident that our vikings will be able to fight through it! Good luck to E.J. in his recovery and rehabilitation. We’ll see you next year! ALWAYS – VIKES!

I agree i think the vikes should go after a vetran MLB lik brooks or even Nate webster i think he could have a good impact on the team

I really hope we don’t go back to primary nickel formation now. 3 linebacker sets work best for us… It’s too bad Erin is still hurt, I’d like to see Greenway move to middle and Erin on the outside. Had Jeremiah Trotter not resigned with the Eagles a few weeks back that could’ve a good option as well.

Coach C take it from me if you have been following the Vikes as long as I have sometimes us fans know whats right. Derrick Brooks not only brings a play maker to the team but also another leader to the team with Super Bowl experience. Who on the D brings that? Please listen to the fans!

Derrick Brooks is not a MLB. He can’t run anymore. Same with Zach Thomas, who actually is a MLB.

The Vikes know what their doing. Brinkley knows the system and has been working in the middle linebacker spot. Everyone know E.J.was a stud, but has had several season shortened seasons. The Vikes back up plan is to use Brink. Greenway Lieber will make the D calls.

The vikings will be fine with this change and the rookie linebacker Brinkley will make his name in the NFL on sunday. I see him getting one of these sack, interception or a forced fumble and he will get 5 tackles.

Give Brinkley a chance. He has alot of potential. He is strong against the run, and we will see plenty of runs from the Bengals. I here some fans calling for D. Broooks and Z. Thomas. There is a reason these guys are out of the league. THERE OLD AND WASHED UP…

i think brinkley will do fine, it;s the pass D i’m worried about. this must be fixed if we are to make any noise in the playoffs this season. GO VIKES!

Jasper Brinkley will knock your socks off. Just wait until you see him knock a few running backs senseless in the backfield for a loss and they get up and try to join the Viking huddle. Winfield will return. Garrett Mills will provide a shocker for those teams which are too cowardly to kick off to Harvin. He’ll run those short kicks back to their own 20.

I’m not worried about anything, including how long that Ochocinco will be hospitalized after Ragnar uses that big horn on him.
