Carucci: Favre Is The NFL’s MVP

Posted by Mike Wobschall on December 1, 2009 – 7:32 am’s Vic Carucci has penned a piece on the league’s website arguing that Vikings QB Brett Favre should win the MVP award this season.

Carucci cites Favre’s remarkable 24-3 TD/INT ratio as one reason the 3-time MVP should win yet another award, but he also says Favre’s age should be considered.

“Now, in his 19th season and with his fourth different team,” Carucci sayd, “Favre is at the age when all of the achievements of a long and distinguished athletic career are supposed to be admired, not enhanced.”

Brett gets my vote. I am 58 yrs old, grew up in Green Bay, knew many of the Bart Starr era packers, went to the Ice Bowl at age 15 and have been a life long Packer fan until this year…. Where Brett goes – I will follow.

Wow, it’s close…with Drew Brees’ performance last night, he might be the leader, 5TD to 5 different recievers, only 5 incompletions…Manning, Favre, and Brees, and watch out for Chris Johnson

Who Dat say gonna beat them Saints? If there is a guy or a team in the NFC that can do it, it is Brett Favre and the Vikings. I watched the Saints game last night and although I have great respect for them, I saw weaknesses in their armor. It starts with the Patriots game plan. Little or no blitzing. I think they got a clean shot on Brees one time….that isn’t going to get it done. The Saints are one of two teams that could have their running game shut down and still pass their way to victory. The Vikings are the other team.

Like Brett said, “what the heck am I doing?” Referring to beating up his older body just to play football again. He loves to play that’s why! It is so cool for him at the end of his career to have better stats than ever, and the icing on the cake will be to beat the undefeated Nor’leans Saints in the playoffs, then finish the season with a win over the Colts, putting no doubt on his and the Vikings remarkable season!
p.s. DO NOT watch the video by clicking on my name!

The Vikings are only team that can beat the Saints because they have the
best coordinators to break down the Saints gameplain .They will Keep Brees’ on his back . Go Vikings

Brees, P. Manning, and Cris Johnson are all ahead of Favre for the MVP. We will have to wait and see what happens in Dec.

I think it’s very close with Favre, Manning, and Brees. The only thing I would argue to put Favre ahead of those other two is that Brett has been consistently good in every single game (except for the tipped ball for the int at Pittsburg). Manning has had 3 games where he’s had two Ints and the defense helped in out. Brees has had a couple of bad games where the defense won the game in the end. although Manning has less to work with. Brett has by far the best TD to INT ratio and while the Colts and Saints would not have won as many games w/out their QB’s, you could easily argue neither would the Vikings without Brett.

this will be a close vote but favre will win it.He’s with brees in td’s but has less int’s.Also they will consider he’s doing this at 40yrs old.All of the qb’s are valid contenders and I wish all of them luck they are great players and role model’s but watch out for chris johnson he’s making a push at running back.

‘purplehorn’…Saints, Vikings, Colts, Cardinals, even the Steelers can all pass thier way to wins, the Steelers did it last year with no running game, they’ll get Polamalu back soon and they will be alright…the Colts should be named the Indianapolis Peyton Mannings…Sean Payton is an offensive mastermind, he can outsmart the best of any DC in football, the Saints are for real
