Injury Issues Today For Vikings

The Vikings have been fortunate this season to avoid major injury issues. That has changed a bit this week.

While CB Antoine Winfield is poised to return from a foot injury that has sidelined him since Week 6, several other Vikings starters will be game-time decisions today.

RB Adrian Peterson was listed on this week’s injury report with both an ankle injury and an illness. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, and then was held out on Friday and was listed as questionable; he’ll be a game time decision.

G Anthony Herrera (concussion) is doubtful for today’s game after not practicing all week.

FB Fahu Tahi (ankle) was limited on Wednesday, held out on Thursday and then was limited again on Friday; he’s listed as probable. Also listed as probable for today’s game are WR Bernard Berrian (hamstring), LB E.J. Henderson (knee) and CB Benny Sapp (groin).

The players listed above as probable are “near certainties” to play today, although it wouldn’t be surprising to see Sapp held out if Winfield plays. Given that he didn’t practice at all this week, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Herrera sit today. Although head coach Brad Childress would not confirm who would start in Herrera’s place, Artis Hicks is the likely replacement in that spot.

Stay tuned to for injury updates and game day inactives; we’ll have them for you as soon as they become available (90 minutes prior to kickoff).
