Wednesday Injury Reports Released

Posted by Mike Wobschall on November 11, 2009 – 4:03 pm

The Vikings played their final game before heading into the bye with 11 players on the injury report. As they prepare for their 1st game coming out of the bye, there are just 6 players listed on the report.

No one was held completely out of practice, but WR Bernard Berrian (hamstring), QB Brett Favre (hip), LB E.J. Henderson (knee) and Antoine Winfield (foot) were limited. LB Jasper Brinkley (hamstring) and WR Darius Reynaud (hamstring) were listed on the report as full participants.

For the Lions, who are coming off a game against Seattle last week, 10 players appear on the injury report.

DE Dewayne White (toe) and LBs Larry Foote (knee) and Ernie Sims (hamstring) did not participate in practice. DT Joe Cohen (ankle), LB Jordan Dizon (neck), FB Jerome Felton (ankle), DE Jason Hunter (knee), DT Grady Jackson (knee) and QB Matthew Stafford (knee) are listed as limited. WR Calvin Johnson (knee) was a full participant.

Not to discount the Lions, but I would try to rest some of the guys that are still banged up for the stretch. Vikings should dominate this game even without some of the starters.

Yes, resting players that need it would be nice, but no game in this league is a given. If i were childress i would still start the starters because anything can happen. And no one wants to be the team to lose to the lions :)

I was thinking the exact same thing horn. Espescially for Winfield, who we’ve learned we can win without and who we are going to need down the stretch. It would be much better if we gave him one more week to come back at full strength.

And speaking of losing to horrible teams, did anyone catch that creampuff game last weekend? :D

I agree with DogEatDog. Every game (even blow outs) are hard games mentally and physically, I speculate. Things can and do go south in a matter of moments!

Yeah, no one wants to lose to the Lions, but you can really rule out the possibility.

    Go Vikes!!

P.S. Isn’t Matt Stafford supposed to be the sh**? All I’ve seen him do is sulk and throw his helmet around. Maybe his “injury” is more like hurt feelings…hmmm….HEY AT LEAST HE’S MAKING BIG BOY BUCKS.

How close is Reynaud to being ready to play again? Johnson’s been a decent replacement at PR but he just doesn’t have Reynaud’s explosiveness.

The Packers probably under estimated the Bucks last week. Anything can happen, so play the starters, and if the Vikes get up big, sit some key players.
