Topping the century mark is a phrase typically associated with RBs and the standard of rushing for 100 yards in a game. It’s commonly accepted that if a RB rushes for 100 yards in a given game, then that player had a good game.
While Vikings RB Adrian Peterson’s ability to top the century mark will be important in this weekend’s game against the Detroit Lions, we should also keep our eye on another Vikings player who is about to top the century mark in another category for the 100th time.
QB Brett Favre, who is 2nd among all NFL QBs this season with a passer rating of 106.0, has a chance this Sunday to record his 100th game with a passer rating of 100 or better. So far in 2009, Favre has recorded 5 games with a 100 passer rating, including a 115.3 rating the last time he suited up against the Lions.
While the accomplishment of a 100+ passer rating represents success on an individual level for a QB, it also tends to represent team success as well, especially in Favre’s case. In the 99 previous games in which the 19-year veteran has recorded a passer rating of 100 or better, Favre’s teams 91-8.

For the 9th consecutive year, the Vikings and Veterans of Foreign War will partner for a community outreach project as Vikings TE Jeff Dugan, C John Sullivan and FB Fahu Tahi will visit the VA Medical Center.
The visit, which is being sponsored by the Department of Minnesota Veterans of Foreign War State Commander Don Nix, will take place today, just one day before Veterans Day.
The players will visit the Physical Therapy Clinic of the hospital and will donate memorabilia to help begin a permanent Vikings-themed area. The players will also meet and greet patients in the hospital.
