Weather, Field Conditions Should Be Fine

The weather forecast for today’s Vikings-Packers game at Lambeau Field continued to improve all week and now, just hours prior to kickoff, it appears the weather and, consequently, the field conditions, will be fine for the highly-anticipated game.

It’s cold but also dry currently in Green Bay, with a temperature of 36 degrees and partly cloudy skies. According to, the game time temperature will be 45 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 0% chance of precipitation. As the game wears on, forecasts the temperature to drop a few degrees and the chance for precipitation to rise.

Even if showers do move in during the game, they probably won’t be enough to significantly worsen the field conditions. As K Ryan Longwell astutely pointed out to me earlier this week, Lambeau Field will be in great shape heading into today’s game because there’s been just 1 game played on the surface in the last 5 weeks – Green Bay played at home on September 20, then had 2 straight road games before a bye and then a home game on October 18 and another road game on October 25.
