Winfield Doubtful, Harvin Questionable

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 23, 2009 – 1:12 pm

The injury report hasn’t officially been released, but Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress told reporters just moments ago following practice that CB Antoine Winfield (foot) will be listed as doubtful on the report and WR Percy Harvin (shoulder) will be listed as questionable.

According to the NFL’s injury reporting guidelines, doubtful means there’s a 25% chance the player will play and questionable means there’s a 50% chance.

We’ll have another update when the Vikings and Steelers release the official injury report.

Winfield, Polamalu Update

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 23, 2009 – 12:18 pm

Nothing is official yet because the Vikings and Steelers haven’t issued their Friday injury reports, but there is an update in the status of key defenders CB Antoine Winfield and S Troy Polamalu.

Winfield is dealing with a foot injury suffered in the 1st half of last week’s Ravens game. The injury has caused Winfield to miss practice this week and the Access Vikings blog on the Star Tribune’s website pointed out that Winfield was again absent from practice on Friday.

Polamalu suffered a knee injury in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans and that forced him out of action for the remainder of that game and also Weeks 2-5. He returned last week but then re-aggravated the injury during the game and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. But today, Polamalu was back on the practice field, according to this report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Both teams will release their final injury reports of the week later today and we’ll have an update right here on the as soon as one is available.
