Vikings Up Early In St. Louis

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 11, 2009 – 12:35 pm

After starting off slowly (for lack of a better adjective) in their first 2 road games this year, the Vikings are off to a blazing start in St. Louis, leading 14-0 with 4:27 to play in the opening quarter.

Adrian Peterson scored to cap the opening drive and then Jared Allen returned a fumble 50-some yards for a TD, making the score 14-0.

St. Louis has the ball right now and is pinned deep in their own territory.

Vikings Inactives

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 11, 2009 – 10:40 am

The Vikings have declared their inactives for Week 5. They are: QB Sage Rosenfels (emergency QB), CB Asher Allen, WR Greg Lewis, RB Albert Young, LB Erin Henderson, RT Phil Loadholt,WR Darius Reynaud and DT Letroy Guion.

Loadholt is dealing with an ankle injury and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Artis Hicks.

I’m not sure why Young is inactive, but I’m sure Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress will be asked that question after the game.

Game Time Approaching

Posted by Mike Wobschall on October 11, 2009 – 10:14 am

The quest to win their 5th game in as many regular season weeks will begin soon for the Vikings, who have arrived and are now warming up at the Edward Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis. The Vikings and Rams will kickoff just after 12:00 p.m. CT.

When you turn on the game, don’t adjust your TV set as a reaction to seeing the Rams uniforms. They are working an alternate jersey today – the gaudy blue and yellow uniform from their glory days. Hopefully the glory isn’t relived today against the Vikings.

And just like last week, you’ll notice prominent displays of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on the field and in various elements of the players’ and coaches’ attire.

Remember that, if our internet connection allows, we’ll be chatting live with fans during the game. Once the game begins, you can chat with us by going to this page and engaging the user-friendly interface.

Lastly, remember to follow the Vikings on Twitter. We’ll have the active/inactive players prior to the game, score and injury updates during the game and any breaking news after the game. Remember, you don’t need a Twitter account yourself to follow the Vikings on Twitter. Just go to and follow @VikingsFootball.
