Let Your Voice Be Heard And Cast Your Hall of Fame Vote

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 22, 2009 – 1:43 pm

Hall of Fame voting is typically reserved for an exclusive group of football writers. But for the 1st time the Pro Football Hall of Fame is asking fans to voice their choice for who they think should be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2010.

Fans can utilize a number of interactive strategies to voice their opinion by visiting the fan forum.

This new development should be of interest to Vikings fans because of the number of former players who are under consideration. Is it time for Chris Carter, Chris Doleman, Herschel Walker, Steve Jordan, John Randle or Joey Browner to go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame? The Hall wants to know what fans are thinking and it’s time for fans to speak up and be heard by casting their ballot! Almost 10,000 fans have already cast their ballot in the first 24 hours!  Carter is ranking #3 behind Rice and Smith and John Randle is currently #15.

The interactive elements of the fan forum will allow fans to: campaign for their favorite players; interact and debate with Hall of Famers, experts and fans from around the country; contribute their own analysis and commentary; post video messages in support of their favorite players; view stats and information for all 130+ candidates; nominate and vote for the Fan’s Choice Class of 2010; see how their picks compare to the Board of Selectors; participate in daily polls and trivia.

Although the fans vote does not count toward the official selection, the Hall will hear what the fans have to say and the Fan’s Choice will be revealed on the NFL Network on February 6, 2010 in Miami.

My choice would be Jim Marshall and Chris Carter above all former Vikings not in the Hall already.Jim Marshall 270 straight games with out missing is unheard of in this day, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I believe he holds the record for most fumbles recovered by a defensive end in NFL history. Well Chris Carters numbers speak for themselves nothing else needs to be said.

I’d like to add, above the “numbers” of Cris Carter, are his amazing catches. No argument that the numbers alone should do it, but the way he put up those numbers will be the icing on the cake. I miss watching him grab the ball with his finger tips while diving out of bounds but somehow still keeping his toes planted with a couple of blades of grass between them and the sideline.

I think Jim Marshall should be elected simply because of his career record enough said

It’s a crime against football that Jim Marshall hasn’t already been inducted into the Hall of Fame. He will get there.

chuck foreman should be in hall o fame in part to the limited seasons in which he was a player with great numbers for the time he played, and more importantly- he defined the type of power/finess back every team looks for today.he was the adrian of his era, but doesnt receive the recognition of his efforts.jk- a lifelong fan…../

I loved CC. Best hands in my opinion, EVER. John Randle is a definite HOF, he was a beast at DT. Herschel Walker is an interesting story. His stats may say he deserves it, but does he pa-ss the eye test?…I think he comes up just a bit short.
