Don’t Forget To Follow Us On Twitter

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 4, 2009 – 12:22 pm

We’ll be posting updates here on the Blog both during pre-game and post-game activities, but to get even more timely updates, follow us on the official Vikings Twitter account – @VikingsFootball.

Also remember to monitor the Twitter account this weekend because we’ll be on stand-by for when the Vikings announce their 53-man roster on Saturday and then their practice squad on Sunday. The announcement could come at any time, so if I’m not near a computer when the roster becomes official, Twitter will be the outlet I use.

Lastly, join us tonight during the game for a live chat.

Goodell Addresses Vikings Stadium Issue

Posted by Mike Wobschall on September 4, 2009 – 11:10 am

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has said several times in the past that the Vikings stadium issue needs a resolution soon. And, according to Judd Zulgad on the Star Tribune’s “Access Vikings” blog, the Commissioner reiterated that stance during a recent interview with Versus.

“We have a franchise that is owned by someone that really cares about the Minneapolis community [and] wants to get something done that is responsible,” Goodell said, according to Zulgad. “We understand the challenges that exist not only in that market but more broadly in how to finance these projects. But it is something that we need to get done because the Vikings belong in Minnesota and I know the ownership feels that and the public leadership feels that.”

Zulgad also pointed out that the team’s lease with the Metrodome ends after the 2011 season.
