Carucci: Peterson is NFL’s Best RB

NFL.com’s Vic Carucci has jumped into the Adrian Peterson/LaDainian Tomlinson debate, making a strong argument that the Vikings 2-time Pro Bowler is the NFL’s best RB. The debate comes on the heels of Tomlinson’s comments to the LA Times.

On Wednesday after practice, Peterson himself was asked for his thoughts on the matter and he addressed the issue in a professional manner.

“It really doesn’t matter,” Peterson said. “The only thing I try to do is try to be the best, complete player that I can be and that means during the offseason if there’s things that I can improve on, that make my game better, that will help the team, then those are things that I do. So, that’s what I’m going to continue to focus on and continue to do and I’ll let everyone else voice their opinion.”

I know it goes without saying from a Vike’s fan, but I love AP! Every time he touches the ball I tense up and hold my breath. I can’t recall (outside of college football where teams are often grossly mismatched) ever seeing someone play that you knew every time he touches the ball he could score. And I love how every play that should go for -1 goes for +2.

I don’t think it is even an argument. Peterson is SOOOOO much better than LT now. LT is a hall of famer, but in 2009 I’d take AP 100 times out of 100.

it makes me laugh hearing LT compare himself to jordan and tiger. those guys have something LT will never have and that is a championship.
