Favre Slated to Play 1st Half Against Texans

Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress met with reporters at Winter Park on Monday and was quickly asked about his QB situation, which during training camp was the most important position battle on the team but has since become one of the highest profile roster spots in the entire league due to the signing of Brett Favre.

Specifically, Childress was asked about managing playing time for a group of 4 QBs during the preseason.

“It’s not difficult to manage, it’s difficult for everyone to play,” Childress said. “One guy plays for a half and then you parcel out the rest. That’s typically the way it is when you have four quarterbacks.”

Asked even more specifically if Favre would be the one to play the 1st half next Monday against the Houston Texans in Reliant Stadium, Childress said: “That’s what we’re looking at. Yep.”

Great, just tell the O-Line that they need to step up their blocking this week. Blitzers came through practically untouched at the beginning of the game against KC.

that was the same o-line that protected jackson… maybe you’d better give booty his #4 back.

K.C. showed everyone that Brett can not scramble anymore. If you blitz he will be there!!!

He just needs to start recognizing the blitzes and get it to the proper reciever on a quick dump. They seemed pretty obvious, and I’ll bet on Monday Night he will have a better connection with his receivers so that he can toss the ball out quickly when the blitzes are coming.

It didn’t look like the O line, Favre, or anyone was ready for the first series against KC. I think that there was so much going on with Favre at the helm, everyone was out of sorts. I’m sure things will be smoother in Texas.

Ok espn says Favre has become a shcizum. Causing a division between the players in the locker room. Some players want TJ others Sage. Chilly says get over it. OMG it isn’t even the regular season. I’m getting ready to say I told you so and it’s not even September. 1/2 game for Favre might be painful if some linemen “forgett” to pick up a block or two. Like I said this is going to be interesting.

I have watched Favre play all those years in Green Bay and the only difference is the offensive line protected their quarterback. Thatts where Favre failed last year because the Jets let him get pancaked which tore his muscle. The offensive line really needs to step it up. Did any of you stop to think that their line is part of the problem? When they play a team that loves to blitz it will hurt Favre and if the line finally steps up and protects him they will make it to a NFC Championship game.
