The Vikings will hold a silent auction of 20 autographed players’ bicycles to benefit the Vikings Children’s Fund. The auction will take place at Verizon Wireless Vikings Training Camp on Fan Appreciation Day, Wednesday, August 12.

All 20 bikes up for auction have also been used by a Vikings player during training camp in addition to being autographed. The Vikings will also donate 1 bike to a person in need in the Mankato area for every bike purchased at the auction.

The bikes used by the Vikings players are Giant mountain bikes and have a retail value of $350. Minimum bids on the bikes will start at $300. Bikes will be available for delivery or pick-up, as mutually agreed upon by team and winning bidder, one week after camp ends.

On Tuesday, The Vikings Children’s Fund Summer Lunch Program is hosting 50 young fans for a healthy lunch and a coveted VIP view of training. The event is part of the VCF’s ground-breaking commitment to building participation in the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program across Minnesota.

The event will take place at the Vikings Schwickerts VIP Tent after the morning practice. Vikings players will be on-hand to personally encourage the kids to continue pursuing healthful habits over the summer, as modeled and supported by the state- and federally- lauded VCF Summer Lunch Program.
