Back At It

I’ve made it back to training camp after a fast-paced weekend at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, where Randall McDaniel beccome the 9th Viking to enter football immortality. I wrote about McDaniel’s big day for the website, but later on today I plan to empty out my notebook with a few more tidbits.

Before then, though, it’s time to get back out on the field for practice. The Vikings have 2 practices scheduled for today, one going on right now and then another from 2:10-3:10 (special teams practice). Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress will meet with the media following this morning’s practice, and you can watch that live on

We’ll also be back later today with another Mankato Minute after taking the day off yesterday. Players also had a day off from practice yesterday.

With 2 practices, coach’s press conference and also a Vikings ownership retreat going on, today and the next couple of days should be fairly busy. On top of all that, we are now within a week of the Vikings 1st preseason game. They play the Colts on Friday in Indianapolis.

That’s it for now, but I’ll be back later with notes from this morning’s practice and coach’s press conference.

I don’t see a lot of separation right now. The injury has probably held Tarvaris back a bit…but there is still a lot to be determined.
